Leonard’s Lovers

Leonard Cohen. His name instantly conjures his voice: the very sound, the epitome, of the vast sweep of emotion that is love. This one man has come to represent female desire. He is the icon of aging sexuality.
But what of the women he loved? Or more aptly, the women he made love to. Those women- for often just a brief moment- lay in Leonard’s bed and listened as he turned their shared experience into his melancholy gold. What can these women tell us about our experiences as we enter the third age? What does that distant time now mean to them? We will seek out the much-lauded relationships. We intend to discuss post-sexual serenity.

Leonard’s Lovers is not tabloid; it’s not about sex; and it’s neither lurid, nor sleazy. Leonard’s Lovers is a love sonnet to a poet, from the women he loved.
